Red Oak CSD Welcomes New Staff!

The new school year finds eight new members joining the 189  current members serving over 1,300 students. The strength of the Red Oak School District is directly tied to education partners that join the organization each year. Please see the introductory pictures and descriptions. Best wishes are extended to all in the Red Oak Community for a positive, productive, and learning-filled school year!

 

 

Juan Batula joins the staff at Red Oak High School as a teacher of mathematics. In addition, he will coach middle school football and high school boys basketball. Mr. Batula comes to Red Oak following his most recent teaching/coaching assignment at Southeast Warren High School.

 

Shelley Becker, formerly of Kuemper Catholic High School in Carroll, Iowa joins the staff at Red Oak High to teach Business Education, yearbook, sponsor of FBLA, and will serve as the head coach for women’s basketball.

 

Katharine Gay begins her first year of teaching as band director for Red Oak High and Red Oak Middle. She is a 2008 graduate of Iowa State University.

 

Brandy Grummert, a recent graduate of Northwest Missouri State University, will teach grade three at Inman Primary School.

 

Tim Marsden, a graduate of the Red Oak Community School District, returns home to lead the vocal music department at Red Oak High. Most recently he was teaching in Omaha, NE at Wilma Upchurch Elementary School.

 

 

Melissa Schafer of Clarinda joins the staff at Washington Intermediate as a special education instructor part-time and will assist with kindergarten students at Inman Primary part-time.

 

Kathy Koeppel is the new school nurse for the Red Oak Community School District. Having lived in Red Oak for several years, she is ready to serve students, staff, and parents.

 

 

Carlos Guerra will become the new Director of Transportation on September 1. Carlos’ wife, Linda, currently works as a para-educator/interpreter for the Red Oak Schools.
