School Registration Information

Greetings from the Red Oak Community School District.  We are filled with excitement as we prepare for the upcoming school year.  Fall activities, registration, and the first day of school are just around the corner.  As always, there are a few things which need to be taken care of in order to move right back into the school routine: registration, school meal applications, sports physicals, and scheduling classes.

Registration day is the best way to take care of all of the necessary items.  Please come to the Red Oak High School gymnasium on Thursday, August 11, 2016 between the hours of 10 am and 7 pm.  You will be able to complete all of the necessary tasks to get your son / daughter back to school.

As we enter into the month of August, I am excited about seeing students back in the buildings and activities under way.  It is sure to be an exciting year with countless successes and a few challenges.  Please get involved in your students’ education.  Attend conferences and school functions.  Ask them each day what they learned.  Sit with them while they do their homework.  And make sure to communicate with the schools if you have any questions.

I look forward to meeting you and seeing your sons and daughters back in the Red Oak Schools.  Whether they are a returning student to Red Oak, new from out of the district, or just entering school for the first time, we promise to provide them with a great experience in a caring and respectful environment.  Enjoy the rest of the summer and get ready for August 24, 2016.

Lunch Applications for Free/Reduced School Meals

For those who wish to consider our special program for free and/or reduced price lunches, we have enclosed the forms with this mailing. Having these filled in and completed prior to Registration Day is very helpful. Before Registration Day you may drop off your forms at the District Administrative Center, Technology Center Building, Red Oak High Campus, anytime from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. Otherwise, have them completed and bring to your registration on August 11.

On Registration Day, August 11, all school principals, counselors, and needed resource staff will be present and ready to assist you to help your new school year begin smoothly. For those district patrons who plan to access any of the Early Childhood Programs (Kaleidoscope, Right Start and Early Childhood Model Students), staff members will be available to help. Several community groups will provide information tables during the Registration Day activity.

The first day of school for all Red Oak students in grades kindergarten through twelve will be Wednesday, August 24, with a two-hour early dismissal.
